To All Area Hockey Coaches, Parents and Skaters

The Indiana World Skating Academy (IWSA) is pleased to present the Spring/Summer 2010 IWSA All Seasons Youth Hockey School.  In response to overwhelming demand from area coaches, skaters and parents, a custom curriculum has been developed to meet the needs of area hockey skaters and coaches who wish to advance their skating knowledge and skills into a competitive advantage year round.

Remaining sessions for the current block of 8 classes are April 21st  and 28th 2010.  From April 28th until July 6th, we will be holding semi-private (group) lessons for any player wishing to improve their existing skills and develop a competitive edge for the 2010 fall season.  Players will be paired according to ability in groups of 2-4 students.  The semi-private lessons will consist of a 30 min. lesson with one of our two hockey pros at the rink. Call Rocky Trottier for more information and scheduling (710-5988). The semi-private lessons will focus heavily on technical excellence and execution of stick and puck, edge and power skills and will also integrate 'real world' hockey drills into the instruction time.

Starting July 7, 2010, the regular All Seasons Hockey School will resume on Wednesday evenings.   Beginner thru advanced hockey skating and edge skills will be taught on Wednesday evenings for all levels (ages 4–18).   The focus of the 2010 IWSA Hockey School is to develop skating and stick-and-puck technical excellence in five key areas; velocity, power, quickness, agility and control.  This year, we are pleased to announce that Rocky Trottier has  joined our school’s coaching team.  Rocky is a former NHL player who possesses strong skating and stick-and-puck skills.  He has extensive hockey teaching experience and will be working with our students to assure their stick-and-puck skills evolve and compliment their improvements in skating.

Each 8 week block of classes is priced at $110.00 Class time is from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM Wednesday evenings.  Skaters will receive a minimum of 1 hour of instruction with any remaining non-lesson time being for practice. Players may join the school during the 8 week session – school fee will be pro-rated accordingly. At the end of the 8 week session, the students will be formally tested for both their stick and puck skills and skating/power skills. Hockey levels range from level I thru level XII.  Once a student masters a particular level, they received a badge and certificate to note their accomplishment.
